NetConnX Technologies Announces Mobile Computer Forensics and Surveillance Lab

Mobile computer crime lab can be deployed worldwide within 72hrs, including combat or harsh environments.

Los Angeles, CA, January, 28th 2002 – NetConnX Technologies today announced it has completed development and deployed its first Mobile Computer Forensics and Surveillance Lab Vehicle (MCFSV) designed to provide a complete tactical field laboratory for computer forensics, intrusion detection analysis, incident response as well as a foray of data surveillance capabilities and satellite broadband connectivity.

The MCFSV Vehicle is loaded with the latest computer forensic tools, hardware protocol analyzers, UNIX and Windows workstations, wireless counter-intrusion detection gear, spectrum analyzers as well as a mobile rack mounted server farm. The MCFSV is designed to support a lengthy time on station even in harsh temperate environments. The MCFSV is equipped with generator power and can remain fully powered for over a week without refueling. The MCFSV’s small profile allows it to fit inside most transport aircraft for rapid deployment.

“The MCFSV can serve several different types of missions, from acting as a mobile secure hosting platform for clients who have to temporarily relocate server data due to loss of a physical structure to supporting a computer security incident response team or even a crime scene computer forensics laboratory” said Troy Saxton-Getty, CEO of NetConnX Technologies. “One of the more frequent challenges we have is getting our computer security response team and all of their gear to a client’s location quick enough, you can’t take every tool, so the one you seem to need is always left behind, with the MCFSV, every tool we have is always on-board.”

NetConnX Technologies is developing three more units this year to support the demand for immediate onsite response, two of which are going to carry additional capacity to support a larger business continuity and disaster recovery capability which could involve acting as a temporary mobile data center for multiple clients, municipal command posts or anyone who has to get a server infrastructure back online as soon as possible. “We have the capability to recover data from damaged hard drives in the mobile lab or since the mobile server farm supports most of the common data backup hardware formats, we can take backup media from a client, restore it and have the data accessible quickly.” said Glen Weldon, Business Continuity Officer at NetConnX Technologies.
